AAA/BLUEGRASS/TRADITIONAL/ APPALACHIAN
2004
Frogville’s mobile studio was left in the posession of Aimee Curl and Furnace Mountain one winter in Virginia and they used it to create “Shack Album.” These three have been playing together for most of their lives. They grew up together in the same small musical clan in Northern Virginia that has produced many influential pickers. “Shack Album” is a great old time flavored collection of sweeping instrumentals and sweetly sung songs. Aimee and Morgan have a wonderful duet style with all the depth and simplicity of the Shenandoahs themselves. And David Vandeventer’s fiddle playing is unmistakeably spot on. Danny Knicely even appears on some of the tracks on mandolin.
